Highland Plantation - Starting in 1820 this area was enumerated as N2 R2 West but in 1830 it had the name Smith Plantation North of Gilman Plantation. In 1840 the generic name was used but by 1850 it was known as Highland Plantation. It was actually established ,probably officially, in 1871.
Pleasant Ridge Plantation - As early as 1786 the location N1 R2 West was settled and by 1840 it was established as a town although it wasn't referred to as Pleasant Ridge until 1860. Prior to that is was the generic name or, in the case of 1830, as Andrew's Plantation. A related story about this area can be found in the Wyman Dam section of the Old Canada Road site.

Moscow - As with Pleasant Ridge this area was settled early, by 1783. It was initially known as Northfield and Bakerstown. In 1816 the area know as N1 R 2 ceased to exist and in its place was the town of Moscow. All censuses from1820 on were for Moscow.
Mayfield - The are set aside as N2 R2 became Mayfield in 1836. It is likely that the 1820 census labeled "N2 East of Moscow" was for this area althouh there was no similar census for 1830. Starting in 1840 Mayfield began being enumerated as its own entity.
