New Portland - By 1805 this town had its name but in 1800 it was enumerated as East Portland. This distinguished it from West Portland which later became Freeman in Franklin County. Since Starks and Norridgewock further to the south were settled circa 1772, it is probable that this town and the others on this page were settled some time between then and 1800.
Embden - This town started life as Titcomb (along with Anson to the south) and in 1790 there was a census with that name. However, I could find no census for 1800. I suppose it may have been lumped in with the Carrytunk or Million Acres censuses but I do not know. In 1810 the town of Embden began being counted.

Solon - Solon, called Spauldingtown in 1800, became Solon in 1809 and all censuses starting in 1810 called it such.
Athens - Although I haven't included Athens in the tree as of yet, I have it here for completion of this group of towns. It was incorporated in 1804 and started being counted in 1810.
